Windows 7 (+ 64 Bit...)

Io a dire la verita' e' da un po' che uso Civil 3D 2010 (32 bit) su Windows 7 a 64 Bit e lo raccomando a tutti.
Come raccomandavo, a suo tempo, di usare Vista 64 per Civil 3D, dato che la gestione della memoria mi pareva piu' efficiente.

Oggi Peter Funk (che e' uno dei Senior Product Manager della linea Civil), ha messo un post sul forum di Autodesk, nel quale annuncia che non hanno riscontrato problemi nell'uso di Civil 3D 2010 su Windows 7, anticipando il prossimo annuncio del supporto ufficiale su questa piattaforma:

La notizia ci fa piacere, ma la cosa interessante che si legge nel messaggio e' anche la "the interest shown in Windows 7 and on moving to a 64 bit operating system", che sembrerebbe dare consistenza alle voci sulla prossima uscita della versione a 64 bit (Civil 3D 2011, pero'...).

Io non so niente dall'interno per ora (e quindi ne posso parlare...): credo che i 64 bit non siano necessari (di per se') a tutti noi utenti, ma la riscrittura/adattamento del codice a 64 bit dovrebbe portarsi dietro miglioramenti su altri fronti, rendendo il codice piu' efficiente.

Se uscira' saro' comunque lieto di usarla da subito e, anzi, auspicherei in quella occasione l'abbandono della versione a 32 bit.
Che ne pensate?
Io credo che l'unico problema potrebbe essere per alcuni eventuali applicativi che potrebbero avere problemi per essere portati a 64 bit, mentre penbso che sia cosa buona e giusta passare alla nuova piattaforma a 64 bit.
